Shelby was a "brilliant, all-American girl" who was found dead the morning of December 20th after a night of drinking at a friends home. The friend's parents were upstairs asleep while the drinking was occurring.

Andrew Anderson
Death: 5/30/2008
Age: 16

Andrew went out drinking with his two older brothers and some friends. After the group finished consuming two large bottles of vodka, Andrew fell off a log and passed out. He was found dead on the ground the next morning. His BAC was 0.353.

Rob was drinking vodka with friends at a apartment. At some point, Rob began to vomit. His friends took him to the laundry room and leaned him over the sink to finish vomiting. While he was leaning on the wash tub, Rob fell and hit the ground. Moments later, his ears began to purple and his friends called 911. His BAC was 0.15.

Leslie, a Senior dean's list student at the University of Virginia died from fatal brain injuries after a fall down a flight of stairs. It is believed that Leslie was partaking in the long standing tradition at University of Virginia - 4th year 5th. Before her friends went to the football game that night, they placed Leslie on the couch upstairs. When they arrived home, Leslie was lying face down at the bottom of the stairs. It is believed that she woke up at some point and due to her intoxicated state, fell down the stairs to her death.

John Barbaro

John was a student at Chico State University. He had been out drinking with friends. On his way home, John fell asleep in an intoxicated state on train tracks (BAC 0.25). He was struck and killed by a train.

Alyssa Marie Bargsley

Alyssa and her friends alcohol from inside one of their homes without the knowledge of the adults. After consuming the alcohol, they decided to take a ride on a golf cart. Alyssa was standing on the back of the cart. The driver was swerving back and forth and hit a bump in the road. Alyssa fell off and fatally struck her head.

Nick was a sophomore in high school. After a night of drinking heavily with friends, Nick was airlifted to a hospital with alcohol poisoning. He never regained consciousness.

Adam was a rookie soccer star for the University of Maine. He was partying with friends on a Friday night over the Thanksgiving holiday. On Saturday morning his friends called 911 because “he was having trouble breathing”. When they arrived they found Adam unconscious and unresponsive. Two individuals with him that night that were over 21 and supplied him with the alcohol were charged in the case.

Beverly was found dead, slumped over in the back seat of a car. She had been drinking with friends and is believed to have died due to excessive alcohol consumption and hypothermia.

Kiel was a sophomore at California University of Pennsylvania and a member of the rugby team. In the early morning of May 1st, he showed up at the apartment of some of his friends. He appeared very intoxicated and was looking for a place to stay. They found him unresponsive the next morning on the couch. He died of alcohol poisoning.

Jaylan was a 90 lb sixth grader living in Lansing Michigan. Jaylan was hanging out with friends and drinking alcohol purchased by a 40-year old man. Jaylan was found dead in a wooded area not far from his home. The 40-year old who supplied the alcohol was charged with providing alcohol to a minor causing death.

The girls obtained a bottle of vodka from an 18 year old friend and returned to the house where they drank about 12 oz of the vodka mixed with sparkling cider. Sarah began vomiting and not feeling well. At some point, the friends and the friends mom put Sarah in the shower to clean off. After the shower she became unresponsive and died.

Ben was winter camping with friends in Maine. The police were called to the camping site to investigate a stabbing that was reported. During their investigation, it was revealed that Ben had wondered off after drinking. Around 3:30am on Saturday morning, his body was found. Ben had died of hypothermia.

On the day of his death, Shane began drinking at 11am until he passed out at a bar about 4am the following morning. Once back in his hotel room, Shane made his way to the 8th floor balcony where he fell to his death.

Brian was hanging out and drinking with friends at a motel during a trip to the Maine seacoast. A few of Brian's friends left the motel later that night. When they returned the following morning, Brian was "blue in the face and cold to the touch" - he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The police were called about 2:00am and Gary was transported to the hospital. He slipped into an alcohol induced coma and never regained consciousness.

Meaghan was drinking at a friends house. In her intoxicated state, Meaghan fell down a staircase and fractured her skull in two places. She died shortly after the fall.

Michael Duni

Age: 16

Michael was playing cards and drinking at the home of a friend. The vodka had been provided by a mother of one of the friends. It is unclear how much Michael consumed that night, but the next morning when his friends realized he was not breathing, they called 911 - he was pronounced dead at the hospital. The mother who supplied the vodka and allowed the drinking to occur was charged with a felony and spent 4 1/2 months in jail.

Linzy was found dead in her off-campus apartment near Grand Valley State University. She had become very ill while out with friends. Here friends took her home and put her to bed to "sleep it off". It was determined that aspiration pneumonia due to alcohol intoxication caused her death.. Her BAC was 0.12.

Louis was at a friend's birthday party where his mother thought there would be pizza and soda, but their turned out to be alcohol. It is unclear of how much alcohol Louis consumed, but he was found the next morning passed out in the garage. He was taken to the hospital where he stayed in a coma for two weeks before dying. He died from alcohol intoxication and aspiration pneumonia.

Kenneth was hanging out with a group of adults at an abandoned baseball field. They were passing around a bottle of whiskey and a bottle of liquor, taking turns drinking. Kenneth passed out at some point and was taken home. His family attempted to take care of him but he began having difficulty breathing. 911 was called but Kenneth died of acute alcohol poisoning with a BAC of 0.37.

Carter had just finished his junior year at North Dakota State University. He was celebrating the graduation of friends when he fell down some stairs outside of a house. He was found the next morning and was declared dead at the scene. Carter had a BAC of 0.14 (a level at which your motor skills and balance are impaired) and had died from sepsis after his stomach ruptured.

Lewis, a freshman at University of Georgia at Athens, died in his dorm room after a night of heavy drinking at an off-campus house party. Toxicology reports also showed that Lewis had mixed cocaine and heroin with alcohol.

Jenna was a sophomore biochemistry major at Winona State University. Jenna celebrated the end of a tough term by drinking with friends. After a few beers, some rounds of beer pong, and downing some vodka, Jenna and her friends returned home to "sleep it off". Jenna was found cold and unresponsive the next morning by one of her friends. She died of acute alcohol poisoning with a BAC level that was “incompatible with life”.

Nik was pronounced dead at 10:24pm the following Sunday.

Nick Garza was last seen shortly after 11 p.m. on Tuesday, February 5, as he left Stewart Hall on Middlebury College's campus. He had been drinking with friends where he consumed an estimated 18 shots. When Nick wasn't in his room Wednesday morning, his friends assumed he’d joined a group of students who left campus to spend a few days at a cabin in New Hampshire. When those students returned Saturday night, though, they said they hadn't seen Nick and his roommates called for help. Nick was found in a creek nearly four months after he disappeared. His BAC at his time of death is estimated to be 0.24 to 0.330.

Monica Gastelum

Julia was found dead in a park in California by a passerby. Her BAC was 0.52, six-and-a-half the legal limit for driving in the state of California. It is unclear of who Julia was with, how much she consumed, or why she was simply left.

Zane "Z" Goodfield

Zane "Z" told his dad that he was meeting up with friends for a movie and a spend the night. At some point the plans changed and Zane ended up in a hotel room with friends consuming alcohol they had gotten from some adults at the hotel. Zane was found dead in a pool of his own vomit.

Cayle Gray

Cayle was visiting friends out of state when he passed away. After drinking, Cayle passed out and landed in a position that compressed his airway. Although his BAC was not very high, Cayle had consumed enough alcohol that he was unable to wake up and suffocated to death.

Brett, a freshman at the University of Delaware, was pledging Sigma Alpha Mu and was found in cardiac arrest at the off-campus fraternity house following a night of drinking with brothers. Brett was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Joshua Rau and Kristine Guest were riding on a snowmobile on a frozen lake when it hit a peninsula and crashed, killing both Joshua and Kristine. Joshua had been drinking and was intoxicated while operating the vehicle. John, a sophomore in high school, and a friend told their parents they were going to the ice-skating rink. Instead, they went to the home of a 22 year old friend and drank. Police arrived at the home early on April 26th. John was taken to the hospital and put into a medically-induced coma. He died of the consequences of alcohol poisoning on May 1st.

Ashley died of acute alcohol poisoning during a camping trip with friends. On the way to their camp site, the girls stopped at a convenience store and asked a 50 year old male to purchase alcohol for them. Ashley drank nearly ¾ of a 750 ml bottle of vodka as well as some beer.

Benjamin, a Senior at the University of Idaho, was celebrating his 21st birthday with friends. Emergency personnel arrived at the Sigma Nu house at approximately 2:45am. He was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital. Based on information gathered at the scene, Benjamin may have had as many as 15 shots in two and half hours. Preliminary cause of death has been listed as respiratory arrest caused by alcohol poisoning.

Dalton, a freshman at the University of Kansas was found dead outside of a dorm following an night of drinking. Dalton's cause of death was blunt traumatic injuries to his head and chest. It is believed that he fell from the 3rd story roof of the dormitory he was found outside of.

Shohei was a 19-year old student at Aichi Gakusen University in Japan. He was drinking heavily with friends at a party on Wednesday night. He was found dead on his futon mat by friends the next morning. Others at the party told police that they let him "sleep" because he was very drunk.

He was in Panama City Florida for Spring Break with friends and a few chaperones. After some heavy drinking, Matt was on the balcony of his fifth-floor hotel room with friends. He began arguing with guests on the next balcony and leaned over while shaking his finger at them. Matt lost his balance and fell to his death. His friends describe his state before falling as "drunk and belligerent".

Amanda was a student at Minnesota State University; Mankato when she died of alcohol poisoning following the celebration of her 21st birthday. The night consisted of Long Island Iced Tea, Jim Beam, Captain Morgan, a three-shot stop light, and a cherry bomb. After this, Amanda laid her head on the bar and passed out. Her friends carried her outside and took her home to "sleep it off". Friends called for help the next morning when they found her unresponsive, but it was too late. She died with a BAC of 0.46.

Kierra decided to skip middle school with two male classmates. They went to the home of one of the boys and began drinking vodka, wine, peach schnapps and rum. When Kierra passed out, the boys took her downstairs to the basement and took turns having sex with her while she was unconscious. At some point, Kierra threw up. The boys washed her body off with a water hose and left her in the basement where she was found some time later. Kierra died with of an alcohol overdose with a BAC of 0.433.

Dakota was a high school football player who was found unresponsive lying on his back in his front yard after attending a party with friends the night before where he consumed 1 liter of vodka. It is unclear of how Dakota got to his front yard and if friends tried to help him in any way. Dakota suffered cardiac arrest and alcohol poisoning and was pronounced dead after repeated attempts to revive him were unsuccessful. His BAC was 0.39, nearly five times the legal limit for driving.

Tyler was a sophomore at the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology when he died of alcohol poisoning. Loeb and friends were drinking while looking for a Christmas tree in the Black Hills. Loeb's condition became worse after the vehicle they were in got stuck on an icy road. His friends began performing C-P-R after he stopped breathing and an ambulance was called once they were in cell phone range. Tyler never regained consciousness and was taken off life support a few hours later.

When Griffen came to, he was angry and was forced to leave the party. He was found about 1/4 of a mile from his home, dead beside the passenger door of injuries from a motor vehicle accident. His BAC was 0.267.

Jessica had a BAC of 0.406 (doctors believe 0.35 is a lethal level).

When her “friends” realized she had died, her body was dumped in an alley in Phoenix, Arizona and not found for over a week.

When his friends realized he wasn’t breathing, they loaded him into a car and headed for the hospital. It was too late. Hershel had a BAC of over 4 times the legal limit for driving in Tennessee. Five of the individuals with him that night have had criminal charges brought against them.

Garrett, a 14 year old of West Babylon NY, was found dead on the side of a road by a newspaper carrier. Garrett and a friend had bought a bottle of vodka from a man for $10. After going to a "hangout" spot in the woods, Garrett and his friend drank the vodka. Garrett's friend passed out, Garrett wondered off and apparently passed out along the road. He died due to hypothermia and alcohol overdose.

He was declared dead at the scene when paramedics arrived. His BAC was 0.39.

Aydin was a strong, outspoken high school student with dreams of becoming a supreme court judge or even president one day. A day short of celebrating his 18th birthday, Aydin paid $5 to get into a party with friends where he drank heavily. He passed out and when friends were unable to revive him, 911 was called. Aydin died in the ambulance on the way to the hospital. The call for help came to late.

Peter was going to be a junior at Minnesota State University. On the night of August 4th, he went out celebrating his cousin's 21st birthday with friends. After touring some bars, they ended up at his cousin's home. Peter went to sleep on the floor in the living room and never woke up. His friends and cousins found him unresponsive the next morning.

His family won a $224,000 settlement from two of the fraternity members.

Johnny was a freshman at Wabash College when he died of alcohol poisoning following a homecoming party at his fraternity house. He was found the next morning by some of the fraternity members, it was to late to call for help.

Cindy  Sohappy
Death: 12/1/2003
Age: 16

Cindy died in a holding cell for intoxicated students at the Chemawa Indian boarding school. She was placed in the cell after being caught sneaking out and drinking. Cindy was put in the cell and left unchecked for three hours rather than taken to the school’s infirmary for proper health care.

Samantha  Spady
Death: 9/5/2004
Age: 19

Sam, a freshman at Colorado State University, died at a fraternity house after a night of excessive drinking. Investigators said Spady and some companions started drinking beer but switched to straight shots of vodka. It is believed that Spady drank the equivalent of 30 to 40 12-ounce beers or one-ounce shots of liquor.

Eric  Spector
Death: 10/28/2007
Age: 22

Eric was a student at Florida State University. Eric was drinking throughout the day on Saturday, Oct 27. He then went to a party that night and continued to drink. At some point that night, Eric tried to walk home. Along the way, he passed out on the side of the road and died of alcohol poisoning. He had a BAC of 0.40 – Five times the legal limit for driving.

Benjamin  Sprague
Death: 12/9/2007
Age: 18

Ben was a freshman at Clemson University when he died of alcohol poisoning. He was found dead in the basement of a fraternity house. His BAC was over 0.4.

Carson Starkey
Death: 12/2/2008
Age: 18

Carson, a freshman Cal Poly student from Austin, TX, was drinking with active brothers and fellow pledges at the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity house during a big-brother event. The next morning Carson was found unresponsive. He was rushed to the emergency room where he was pronounced dead of an alcohol overdose with a BAC over 0.39. The incident has been ruled as hazing and charges are being pursued.

Michael Starks
Death: 11/21/2008
Age: 18

Eighteen year-old Utah State University freshman Michael Starks died of an apparent alcohol overdose with a blood alcohol level described as "extreme". Michael was in the process of becoming a member of the Sigma Nu fraternity and had "captured", painted, and fed vodka. After they were unable to wake up Starks early Friday morning, police were notified and he was transported by ambulance to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Wade  Steffey

Age: 19

Wade was a student at Purdue University. He had been drinking at a fraternity and upon returning to campus, he was electrocuted after entering a high voltage utility vault room that should have been locked and inaccessible at a campus dorm. There is dispute about whether Wade was intoxicated at the time of his death and if that played a part in how he ended up in the room.

Jacob Stiles

Age: 20

Jacob was a sophomore and fraternity member at Southern Methodist University. Jacob died following a night of partying with fraternity brothers. He died of a lethal combination of fentanyl and alcohol.

John Stinner

John was a freshman at Frostburg State University when he attended an off-campus fraternity party. At the party, John consumed six cups of beer and approximately 13 shots of vodka in less than two hours. Those with John noticed that his condition was deteriorating and took him back to his dorm room to "sleep it off". His roommate found him dead the next morning.

Lance Strickland

Lance, a high school senior, died of alcohol poisoning with a BAC of 0.43 following a night of drinking with some Oregon State University athletes.

Matthew Sunshine
Death: 6/10/2008
Age: 19

Matthew was a freshman at Northwestern University when he was found dead in his dorm room the morning after attending a party and playing drinking games with friends. He was helped back to his room and put to bed. His friends said he appeared to be "sleeping". They called for help at 11:45 the next morning when he was unresponsive. His cause of death was ruled accidental alcohol intoxication with a BAC of 0.396.

Christopher Swingen
Death: 8/4/2007
Age: 19

Chris was celebrating with friends before they all returned to school. They were consuming alcohol mixed with energy drinks. At some point, Chris left the basement where they were partying and went to the garage. In what the coroner states was an alcohol and energy drink induced psychosis, Chris shot himself and took his own life.

Matthew Tembo

Matt was a sophomore at the University of Pittsburgh Greensburg. He was visiting the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity house at Carnegie Mellon University for a friend's birthday where he was seen drinking vodka. Matt was found dead the following afternoon by some of the fraternity brothers.

Brian was enrolled to attend St. Cloud State in the spring, but died of acute alcohol poisoning following a night of beer pong and partying with friends. According to his brother, “I don’t think Brian even knew this could happen”.

Nick Trout
Death: 12/3/2004
Age: 18

Nick spent the evening of Dec. 3rd drinking whiskey and beer with friends. He became sick and passed out and his friends drove him home and put his unconscious body on the front steps of his family's home. The next morning his mother found him unresponsive. He was pronounced dead with a BAC of 0.263.

Cory was found unresponsive by friends following a night of heavy drinking with friends at a neighborhood party. He was pronounced dead from acute alcohol poisoning.

Diego  Vega Perez

Age: 19

Diego was drinking at a company Christmas party. Diego was furnished large amounts of liquor during the party. He later began vomiting and turning blue. CPR was administered at the scene and 911 was called. Diego was transported to the hospital where he fell into a coma and never regained consciousness. He died of acute alcohol poisoning.

Joe Viereck

Joe was a junior in high school on a trip with friends (chaperoned by the parents of one of the friends). The boys flew home ahead of the chaperones and due to a missed connecting flight, they spent the night at a motel. The boys drank by the motel's indoor pool. A motel employee found Joe at the bottom of the pool around 1am - he was unable to revive him.

Anthony "Tony" Gerald Villella

Age: 19

Tony, a student at Towson University, died following a party at his apartment. Tony drank 10 beers and 4 shots that evening.

Michael Wagener

Age: 21

Celebrating his 21st birthday, Texas A&M University student Michael Wagener died of alcohol poisoning with a BAC of 0.48.

Elizabeth Wakulich
Death: 6/15/1997
Age: 16

Elizabeth, a 16-year old high school cheerleader, accepted a bet from a 21-year old male for $50 to chug a bottle of 107 proof liquor. Elizabeth consumed the alcohol and soon began vomiting. She then fell into a coma and died later that same day.

Lee  Walker

Age: 18

Sean Cornell and Lee Walker drowned when there canoe capsized. The two had been drinking at a party on Peter’s Rock (St. Regis Lake) and were returning back to campus. Both were students at near by Paul Smith’s College.

James Charles "Webby" Webster

Age: 16

James, an active 16 year old from New Zealand, was hanging out with friends at a birthday party. At some point James was encouraged to drink vodka. He was not familiar with drinking and the dangers of hard liquor. Within an hour, he was found comatose in the bathroom. No one called for help and James died in his sleep of an alcohol overdose.

Donald Wilder
Death: 1/8/2006
Age: 21

In preparation for an anticipated hazing ritual in which he would be beaten on his buttocks with a paddle by fellow Masons, Wilder decided to drink heavily to "dull the pain". Sometime during the morning of January 8, Wilder was found unconscious and unresponsive in the shower at the barracks. A 21-year old veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom was pronounced dead shortly after noon with a BAC of 0.50

Brandon  Williams

Age: 19

Brandon was a fun loving guy with an infectious smile. He had been drinking and partying with friends one night when he started to vomit. His friends put him on the balcony and went back to partying. At some point, Brandon passed out and continued to vomit. His lungs were filled with vomit and he passed away.

Jason Wren
Death: 3/8/2009
Age: 19

Jason was a new member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon at University of Kansas. He drank several margaritas while out with friends at a restaurant. After returning to the fraternity house, Jason continued to drink whiskey and between 10-12 beers. At some point, he went to bed to "sleep it off". No one checked on him and he never woke up. Jason was found dead around 2:30 the following afternoon. He died of an acute alcohol overdose with a BAC of 0.362.

Zachary  Wright
Death: 1/21/2009
Age: 18

Zakk told his parents he was going to a friends and instead went to his downstairs room (that had a separate entrance)with three friends. After drinking and taking ecstasy, Zakk stopped breathing and his friends went upstairs and got his parents. He was transported to the hospital and pronounced brain dead. His parents removed him from life support a few days later. His cause of death is listed as a lack of oxygen to the brain.

Age: 20

Benjamin died of alcohol poisoning with a BAC of 0.588 at Louisiana State University. With a BAC of this level, it was estimated that he consumed more than two dozen drinks.
