GORDIEawareness Day
GORDIEawareness Day is an effective program that can be implemented year after year. Executed on its’ own or in conjunction with other alcohol awareness initiatives already in place, it is a tool to spark conversation and to emphasize the costs related to alcohol misuse. On this day, 1700 green Gordie flags are placed on campus representing the over 1700 student lives lost each year to alcohol related deaths. This stunning display is accompanied by signs explaining the significance of the flags and the signs of alcohol poisoning.
